The diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Japan were established January 26, 1992. The Embassy of Kazakhstan opened in Tokyo in February, 1997. Since April 2007, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Japan is H.E. Mr. Akylbek A. Kamaldinov.
