FOURTH ASTANA ECONOMIC FORUM

The IV Astana Economic Forum will be held on 3-4 May, 2011, in Astana at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Every year at the forum, which is supported by the Government and the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives from political and business community, economists and mass media gather to seek solutions to the problems facing Kazakhstan and the rest of the world.

The present forum will be focused on following three key trends: “The Global Economy and Finance”, “Business and Investment” and “Economy and Stable Social Development”. Each of these will be characterized by discussions on topical issues concerning the global economy and finance, by meetings for the conclusion of contracts and memoranda. Traditionally, the forum makes recommendations to the leaders of the G20 countries, offered for the consideration of the G20 Committee.

As a result of the last year’s forum the Memoranda and Agreements on cooperation have been signed, the Agreements with European Investment Bank about the financing of investment projects for the sum 1,5 billion euro were signed. Events that were carried out within the limits of a forum had got the support of such authoritative international organizations, as the World Bank, the United Nations, Islamic Bank of Development, the Asian Bank of Development, the European Investment Bank, the World Economic Forum, the World Islamic Economic Forum and etc.

More than 3500 chief political leaders and heads of the states and international organizations, prominent representatives of science and business, and also representatives of mass media from 80 countries of the world were invited to the forum 2011. For today, seven Nobel Prize winners have already confirmed their participation, and also a number of politicians and scientists-economists.

The scientifically-practical conference regarding the questions of the international currency system: «New configuration of the economic and monetary power» will be held by Nobel Prize winner in economy, "The father of the Euro" professor Robert Mandell within the limits of the forum. The conference objective is the discussion of the questions devoted to currency-financial system and necessity of its changes, and also questions of introduction alternative, regional and World currencies will be deeply mentioned.

We invite all interested experts and representatives of governments, international organizations, the business communities, transnational companies, research institutes and universities to participate in this forum, and contribute to the discussion of topical issues and contribute concrete proposals to meet the challenges and prospects for the global economy in the years ahead.
