The execution of Saddam Hussein could hardly lead to the accelerated normalization of internal political situation in Iraq. To the contrary, further escalation of confrontation, aggravation of conflicts of religious and ethnic origin is quite possible.

Having declared the moratorium to the capital punishment in December 2003, Kazakhstan has clearly indicated its stance towards the use of death penalty, no matter what reasons are given to respective decisions.
