       On providing the humanitarian aid to the People’s Republic of China

After the tragic events the letter of condolences on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan .Nazarbayev was addressed to the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Republic Hu Tsintao.

The scale of the tragedy and the established strategic partnership between two nations made the President of Kazakhstan to give the Kazakh government necessary instructions it to provide a humanitarian aid to the Chinese people.

The Government of Kazakhstan adopted the resolution on providing the official humanitarian aid to the People’s Republic of China. In accordance with that resolution the victims of the earthquake will be provided with the necessary stuff and medicine from the national reserve Fund to cost about 433 213 840 (four hundred thirty three million two hundred thirteen thousand and eight hundred and forty) tenge in the form of the following types of aid:

- 267 808 canned meat;

- Kazakhstan will also send bedding belongings, including the following items: mattress – 10 980 items, pillow - 25 100 items, blanket – 5 000 items, pillowslip – 42 100 items, bed sheet -32 000 items;

- The aid is also to consist of such garments as jackets and skirts in the number of 11 715 sets;

- Kazakhstan sends 300 winter-season tents, which are designed to accommodate 40 people each. This part of aid is to resolve partially the problem of accommodating the homeless people, before they are finally settled in living apartments;

- In the result of the disaster a lot of people were injured at various extents. For this reason Kazakhstan sends 27 000 ampoules of tramadol, that is an analgesic to be used for treating physical pain.  

Kazakhstan will also provide transportation of the mentioned humanitarian cargo to the Chinese station Tianshui of Gansu Province.
